This work focused on understanding why existing pathways for sexual assault survivors often fail at the moment support is most needed, and what a more trustworthy product experience could look like. Through market and user research, I identified key gaps in traditional search and referral models, including fragmented information, unclear vetting, and high emotional burden placed on survivors during help-seeking.
I translated these insights into a product designed to prioritize trust, clarity, and autonomy. The Beyond Believed Companion combines structured resource data with a guided, trauma-informed experience that helps users navigate options without repeated disclosure or pressure. Product decisions consistently balanced accessibility with responsibility, ensuring the experience supported users without replacing human care.
The resulting product launched as a trusted navigation layer between survivors and vetted legal and therapeutic resources. Research-led decisions improved transparency around provider fit, cost, and approach, while reducing cognitive and emotional friction during early engagement. Ongoing iteration continues to strengthen trust, accuracy, and inclusivity as the platform scales.
