At the time of our audit, Bing users struggle wit h inconsistent answer layouts and information density. They often have to “filter ” t hrough content to find what t hey ’re looking for. Bing is consistent ly shape-shifting wit hin linked experience queries and dozens variations of designs for similar answer cards. Our goal is to shift focus to clarity and simplification within design.
We compiled an audit of Bing for core segment areas in a team of two designers and researchers to better understand t he core design experience of Bing we sectioned t he whole pages down to individual answer slices to view variants, inconsistencies, components used, and volume of designs across Bing to be accounted for future migration effor ts.
